Cause Description:
The Yantalo Peru Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and education of the people in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle village of Yantalo. Our first priority is the building of a 16-bed clinic. Medical services will be provided by teams of Peruvian and international specialists in order to assure adequate preventive and curative care as well as training local staff, medical students and residents from Peruvian medical schools. In the area of education, the foundation is sponsoring three english teachers and two computer science teachers. As of December 2008, 9 medical/dental missions have traveled to Yantalo. Since 2005 scholarships are being provided to the best students of each HS graduating class to pursue College education. We need volunteers: MDs, DDs, RNs, teachers. We need donations!
