ThinkFirst was founded by America's neurosurgeons in an effort to decrease the leading cause of childhood deaths and disability - traumatic injury. Our mission is to prevent brain, spinal cord and other traumatic injuries through education, research and advocacy. The ThinkFirst message is "Use your mind to protect your body". We have developed injury prevention programs and award-winning public education curricula targeting high risk age groups. Our upbeat programs educate young people about personal vulnerability and risk taking.
