Cause Description:
The Texas State Homeschool Project Fair (TSHPF) provides a unique and beneficial educational service to homeschooled students in all grade levels in Texas. Through participation in a statewide science and history fair, students enhance their abilities to make observations, ask questions regarding particular phenomena or situations, formulate ideas and procedures for the solution of a problem, use complex and or analytical reasoning skills to find an answer or solution to a problem and effectively present their work to society in a competitive atmosphere. Studies show that using this multi-sensory approach to learning in addition to the one on one tutoring that homeschooling offers is the best method for allowing students to retain that knowledge in greater detail and for a longer time. TSHPF strongly believes that it is just as important for students to learn how to use the knowledge they learn as it is to learn the subject material in the classroom,. The learning activities encouraged by TSHPF complement the rapidly growing need fro students to be able to understand and utilize their knowledge.
