Cause Description:
For almost 50 years, United Cerebral Palsy of the Golden Gate has advanced the independence and community integration of people with cerebral palsy and other physical and developmental disabilities through employment, recreation, therapeutic activity, social opportunities and advocacy. We assist children and adults, their families and support networks, and the community. Our community-integrated adult day programs (Project Opportunity in San Francisco and Choices in Oakland and Pleasant Hill) provide job and volunteer placement and training, as well as opportunities for recreation, education and self-advocacy. Our children’s weekly therapeutic and recreational swim programs (SF Swim and SNAP in Berkeley) are open to children throughout the Bay Area. Our information and referral line supports requests for education, support and advocacy. Our Holiday Gift Program purchases adaptive toys for children with disabilities in San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa and Marin Counties.
