Cause Description:
The Seneca Babcock Community Center was established in 1975. Today our center offers comprehensive human service programming to the residents of this inner city area. These services are aimed at all age groups, from preschoolers to Senior Citizens. Although our community center has one of the smallest budgets of any center in the City of Buffalo, we deliver programs and services seven days per week, twelve to fourteen hours or more per day. With the help of our Councilman, Richard Fontana, we were able to secure $600,000. from the City of Buffalo Public Works Department to completely renovate our building. These renovations will begin in February, 2000 and will include a new fitness room and a computer/learning classroom.
