Cause Description:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus and Phenix City are devoted to helping young people in our area, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, develop the skills and attitudes to become productive citizens and leaders in our community. We were chartered in 1937 as an affiliate of the Boys Clubs of America. We are governed by a board of 68 directors selected from our local community. Club members participate in programs that are offered year-round that focus on five major areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Like Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. We serve over 3,500 young people in our local community and operate four units, three in Columbus, GA and one in Phenix City, Al. With a full-time and part-time staff of over 50.
