The National Association for Girls and Women in Sport is a non-profit, educational organization designed to serve the needs of administrators, teachers, coaches, officials, leaders, parents, students, media and participants of sport programs for girls and women. NAGWS began in 1899 and continues today as one of six associations within the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. NAGWS is the only professional organization devoted exclusively to providing opportunities for girls and women in sport-related disciplines and careers.
