Moosewood Nature Center
MooseWood Nature Center is a private, non-profit nature center featuring native wildlife located on Presque Isle Park. With just four part-time staff members, and dedicated volunteers, MooseWood offers an average of six public programs per month, five weeks of summer day camp, nature-themed birthday parties, and monthly Junior Moose programs for Marquette County youth.
MooseWood offers adult-only, children-only, and family programs. Our primary focus, however, is on serving the youth of Marquette County. MooseWood provides hands-on programs that enrich school curriculums and help to create a passion for science education. At MooseWood, a new generation of naturalists is learning to take up the challenge of understanding, enjoying, and preserving the natural heritage of the Upper Peninsula.
MooseWoods mission statement is: To celebrate nature through education and action in the Upper Peninsula. Our slogan is: MooseWood Nature Center: Changing the World, One Classroom at a Time.
