Help Save the Historic Boyntonville Church

Cause Description:
The former Boyntonville Methodist Church was chartered in 1856, and in 1859 construction began on a new church for the community. Since that time the church building has seen many changes. The last major renovation was done in 1911, which is how the church looks today. However, time and reglect, from the former owners have not been kind. We need help to save this historic building for future generations. The list of repairs and upgrades is extensive. The sills have dry rot, the heating system was condemned years ago, there is no insulation in the building, a new well and septic system are required, as does the replacement of 100 year old wiring. These are just a few of the major repairs needed, not to mention restoration of the stained glass windows, a new cradle for the 1200 lb. bell in the tower, and removal of the tacky vinyl siding that is hiding the beautiful architectural features.
