The mission of Rise Up Hagerstown is to enable, empower, and promote opportunities for poor, marginalized and oppressed families and individuals of all abilities to develop their full potential, to contribute to society, and to realize social and economic opportunities. In short, to rise and soar. Rise Up Hagerstown exists to address problems that create a permanent poverty class in the Hagerstown, Maryland tri-state area through effective and innovative services that help achieve economic and personal independence through education, employment, and safe and healthy environments. Committed to preserving, enhancing, and enriching the quality of life for all people, Rise Up Hagerstown assists persons in need by providing second-chance scholarships to train at Barr Construction Institute for persons who have overcome addiction, incarceration, and abuse in their life journey, so they can begin a new career and better their life with a career that pays above the minimum wage. Join us in raising money to empower our neighbors to rise up and soar!
