Unsheltered humane society serving Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, Westmoreland counties. Provide spay/neuter assistance, pet meals on wheels and pet partners for senior citizens. Rescue abused/neglected animals, prosecute animal cruelty/neglect. Loan program that provides suitable housing units for outside pets. Educational outreach in schools and local events to promote spay/neuter, responsible pet ownership. Utilizes foster homes and local veterinary and boarding facilities to house pets until suitable homes are found. Adoption contracts with background check and spay/neuter requirement. Dedicated to spending funds raised for direct services to the animals (spay/neuter, veterinary care, emergency medical costs. Offer a pet adoption program for qualifying seniors that provides food, transportation and assistance with veterinary care and guarantees placement of the animal in another suitable home if the senior becomes incapable of caring for the animal.
