The Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz & San Benito Counties was founded in 1972. It provides emergency food and grocery products to more than 120 agency affiliates in its service area. These agencies serve more than 42,000 people every month. In the past year it distributed nearly 7 million pounds of food. We could not do this without the help of 900+ volunteers in 2002/2003. For every dollar donated, we can purchase $10 worth of food.
