Cause Description:
We are a group of volunteers who travel to Ocote Paulino, Yoro Province, Honduras every spring and fall to provide free medical care and assistance and education to improve the health of the local people. Many in Honduras live in poverty and lack adequate clean water, substantial housing, and medical and dental health care. They often live in remote rural and mountainous areas which inhibit their access to basic medical and dental services. Our mission is to work with the Honduran community to improve the life and health of the people living in the Ocote Paulino area. In addition, the brigades provide a setting for training of health care professionals and volunteers in international health care and program development.
