Cause Description:
We at Community School for the Gifted want to stimulate and challenge children, while at the same time, giving them the freedom to spread their wings and fly. Gifted children need an atmosphere conducive to higher level thinking skills and exploration of their environment all day, every day. Giftedness cannot be tapped one hour a day or one day a week. CSG has developed a program to encompass the gifted child. Our goal is to offer these children the benefit of a genuine gifted program. We will continue to target all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic groups. Our people resources, mentorship programs, and frequent field trips enhance the hands-on learning approach. All of these techniques will be encompassed in a loving, caring, learning environment to fit the individual needs and interests of each child. Gifted children have special wants and needs, both academic and social. We recognize those needs and are committed to helping each child reach his or her potential.
