Cause Description:
Here is a little bit about our Muscle Walk Team. The money that we raise goes directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Addison is 7 years old and in 2nd Grade at Cumberland Heights Elementary in Cunningham, Tennessee. Addison was born with the congenital form of myotonic muscular dystrophy. The doctors said that she would likely never walk. Through the years she has proven them wrong and loves to run around and play. She loves life and is one of the most loving persons I have ever met. (I may be slightly biased!) She has overcome so many obstacles and continues to amaze her mother and I each and every day. The money raised through her Walk team goes directly to MDA and helps fund research to find a cure, clinic services for MD/ALS, a week-long summer camp that lets kids with muscle diseases feel as 'normal' as other kids, and helps with repairs to life-improving medical equipment. This is a debilitating disease that gets progressively worse. MDA helps these and other families attain the unattainable,and celebrate these beautiful souls that seem to always be grateful that they are blessed with life.
