Cause Description:
In 1996, we began housing and adopting out cats and dogs through a boarding kennel. More than a 1,500 (!) wonderful dogs and cats have been placed into loving homes since 1996, and we will always be grateful to the wonderful families who opened their homes and hearts to these pets. In 1997, Canine Sanctuary volunteers, and fifteen Canine Sanctuary dogs assisted in changing an area shelter from a high kill shelter to a no kill shelter. Through this process we successfully placed over 100 dogs and cats with wonderful families to love and care for them the rest of their lives, saving them from being euthanized. At this time, we are searching for a facility of our own, as we continue to thrive in our endeavor to make a difference in the lives of abandoned / abused dogs and cats, using foster homes and boarding kennels to house and show our homeless pets. We will continue to assist our community as our country re-bounds from recent financial crisis, and more and more animals lose their homes. We appreciate any assistance from the public who want to lend their time, skills, or donate to participate in our continued efforts to save lost, abandoned, and abused cats and dogs
