Cause Description:
Rabies is 99% fatal, yet 100% preventable. Our mission is to protect animals and people from the terror, suffering and death that rabies brings. We work to end the injustice that sees this entirely preventable disease continue to kill over 59,000 people every year, 99% of them from the world's poorest communities. We do this by promoting healthy relationships between people and dogs and working towards alleviating the burden of the disease in animals in general. Our approach is holistic and involves people, education, vaccination, access to treatment, and monitoring results. We work across the world to encourage governments to take action, align agencies to work together, and empower communities to protect themselves.
