Cause Description:
We offer a small, nurturing environment serving students with a wide range of needs and abilities. We usually serve approximately twelve students in our day program on a full or part-time basis. Our day educational program provides instruction for students age 12-21. Each student's course of study is designed around his or her Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Instructional Plan (IIP) goals, the Virginia Standards of Learning, and/or the curriculum taught in his or her home public school. Our teachers and Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) counselors are skilled at building therapeutic relationships with their students, helping students develop positive attitudes toward school, and encouraging learning through repeated academic success.
