Cause Description:
Labor of Love Animal Welfare Project is a grassroots rescue located in Nashville, TN. We take in special needs and harder to place dogs, those who can find help nowhere else...we also take in dogs at the request of local law enforcement officers, when they encounter situations of cruelty and neglect. We are not a breed-specific rescue, but we do take in primarily pit bull type dogs, as there are so few resources available for them, and they get the worst of it on so many levels. We have been assisting dogs in need in this area for 6 years. As funds allow, we also do outreach to the community, and assist as we are able with families who are struggling to provide for their companion animals. We would eventually like to start a community pet food bank and veterinary care resource fund for those who are experiencing financial difficulty. We would also like to establish a spay/neuter fund to provide this necessary service for those in need in this community.
