Cause Description:
Hardeman Adoptable Animals is a group of volunteers rescuing dogs - strays, owner surrenders or breeder throwaways - from euthanasia at the Hardeman County animal control kill facility. We place them in a safe shelter that is located in the county landfill. The dogs are then evaluated, cared for by a veterinarian if necessary, and placed on our list of available, adoptable dogs. WE OPERATE SOLELY ON GENEROUS DONATIONS. All food, supplies, equipment and medical services are paid for by personal resources, member contributions and donations from the general public. We have no paid staff. OUR GOAL IS TO BUILD A NEW SHELTER ON OUR OWN LAND, OUT OF THE LANDFILL. We struggle daily to provide care and feeding for the dogs.
