Cause Description:
Haven at the Inn strives to minimize the needless euthanasia of abandoned dogs at municipal animal control facilities; and to remove dogs from abusive, endangering and neglectful environments including puppy mills, breeding facilities, private homes and other locations identified independently or through the assistance of other rescue organizations and local animal control organizations. Haven at the Inn believes it is our moral duty to provide food, shelter and necessary veterinary care including spaying and neutering of rescued animals, maintain a state licensed shelter facility to house and care for rescued animals and to establish a network of individuals willing to provide quality temporary foster homes for rescued animals, operate adoption programs to place rescued animals into suitable and loving permanent adoptive homes, create public interest and awareness of abused and abandoned animals, provide temporary shelter at no-charge for animals harbored by foster-based, not-for-profit rescue organizations which do not have a foster home available for an animal in their custody, develop resources to assist owners with access to low-cost services including spay/neuter services, micro-chipping, vaccinating and caring for the animals in their care so as to reduce the population of unwanted animals, control the spread of preventable disease and serve the public purpose of identifying lost, stolen or stray animals so that they can be re-united with their owners rather than placed into situations where they are at risk of being abused, euthanized or otherwise mistreated. and to promote action and advocacy for all of the above.
