Cause Description:
O & P rescue was opened in September 2012 by William Ura and Randy Kovach. William & Randy had rescued their two pit bulls from the street of Pittsburgh, and they are the inspiration of the rescue. We got our name from them O=Onyx & P=Princess, which makes the O & P Rescue. Our dogs are a buig part of our rescue as they teach the rescued dogs the ropes and take them under their paws and baby them. The magor goal of O & P Rescue is to save homeless, stray, and dogs that are in high kill shelters. It is extremely unfair to any dog to be euthanized for any reason other than a serious medical issue where they are suffering. Here at O & P Rescue, we will never euthanize a dog to make room for another or because a dog has been with us for a long time. We will educate the community the importance of spaying and neutering of pets. O & P Rescue is a small volunteer ran rescue that runs only on donations from the public, private contributions, our fundraising events. Without the help of fellow animal lovers we wouldn't have been able to accomplish the rescue of these dogs. All of the wonderful people that help keep us going are volunteers and do what they do for the animals out of the goodness of their hearts. Our dogs are treated with love and care every day because we want to be them to feel the love they deserve. O & P Rescue started a program "Operation Warm Dog." This program is to help dogs that are chained outside in the freezing degree weather. We see numbers of dogs that are kept outside all year around, and some with no shelter or frozen water/food bowls. We are in search of donated items that would help us to get and keep these dogs warm/fed/watered. The following items we are in search of to help with "Operation Warm Dog", dogs house/shelters, straw for the bottom of the dog house/shelters, food/water bowl, rubber sheets (for doors on the dog houses/shelter), Rubbermaid containers to make water proof/wind proof food/water containers(2,3,4,5,6 gallon containers), dog food/treats, and coats for dogs to wear in the snow and very cold temperature. O & P Rescue number one mission is to save any/all dogs that we are able to save/help/take care of. SAVING 1 DOG 4 PAWS @ A TIME RESCUE BREED ARE THE BEST BREED.
