CAREGIFTED gives weeklong getaways to lifelong family caregivers of the severely disabled-- the ones who have been at it 10 years or longer, and who have made uncommon sacrifices of their own careers, arts, leisures, income and health in order to save their family members the sorrows (and us the expense) of institutionalization. CAREGIFTED records caregiver testimonies (in text and film-- see UNDERSUNG dot org), gives voice to caregiver concerns, and organizes donors, artists and caregivers in common cause.
