Cause Description:
We work to empower individuals in Colorado's communities and prisons to break patterns of victimization and violence. We have three programs: 1) Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) -- experiental conflict-resolution workshops for adults and mature teens; 2) Peaceful Schools -- offers similar conflict-resolution training to children and younger adolescents; 3) One-to-One Visitation -- volunteers visit inmates at Denver County Jail in response to inmates' requests. While we are a regional group, the AVP program is international in scope.
