Cause Description:
The Foundation Enriching Lives Program provides social, entertainment and educational opportunities for limited-income individuals living at nursing facilities, other senior facilities, VA Medical Centers/hospitals, facilities serving physically and mentally handicapped individuals, physically ill or convalescing individuals (and caregivers), and/or disadvantaged citizens. The Foundation's US Military Service/Service-Disabled Caregiver and Family Assistance Program provides assistance to families of US Service members/Veterans as needed. It (1) provides “respite” opportunities for full-time family caregivers of disabled veterans living at home; and (2) provides assistance to families staying at Fisher House facilities -- to purchase food and other needed supplies and personal care items while visiting with loved ones at Hospice or undergoing medical treatment at the DC VA Medical Center or other medical facilities.
