The CPC is the first national organization dedicated exclusively to preventing the extinction of U.S. native plants. The CPC operates a national program of off-site (ex situ) conservation, research, education, and restoration through a consortium of over 30 leading botanical gardens and arboreta. The heart of the CPC is the National Collection of Endangered Plants, a collection of over 500 of America's rarest native plants, making it one of the largest living collections of rare plants in the world.
