Cause Description:
The Agency's Early Care and Education program strives to provide an inclusive, nurturing environment that builds relationships with families, fosters attachment and security in children through continuity of care, and helps foster positive self-esteem. Understanding the uniqueness of each child, educators plan a program to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each child. Children learn and develop when they are in predictable environment and have an opportunity to anticipate and make choices throughout the day. Our campus curriculum is based on reflective care-giving practices and activities that are developmentally, culturally and linguistically appropriate. Each child and their family are treated with respect and dignity. Children are nurtured, held, and encouraged through positive support and guidance throughout the day. Each child is encouraged to explore the rich environment via activities such as water and sensory play, various art mediums, manipulative, blocks, books, and dramatic play. Hands on activities are designed to promote learning through play, while preparing the children for their future school experience. Each child's health and nutritional needs are reinforced to ensure the optimum level of development growth. Parents, an integral part of the program, are recognized are the child’s first teacher and primary caregiver. The child development program supports parents by offering guidance in parenting practices through bilingual educational trainings, parent conferences and meetings. Support services are offered through cooperative partnerships with other nonprofit community based organizations and are available to the families and children.
