Cause Description:
The One Mission Initiative is a faith-based Long-Term Recovery Organization (LTRO). As the recovery effort transitions from initial response to the rebuilding phase, we establish a "beachhead" venue through which volunteers can be mobilized, coordinated and served. Our Recovery Team consists of families who move into areas affected by disasters, becoming a part of the community as well as the recovery effort therein. We believe in restoring the hearts, faith and hope of people affected by the disaster along with the structures that were destroyed. As a faith-based organization, our mission is to provide a venue for people to help those in need that not only encourages an intense focus on service, but that also glorifies God. Although we are a faith-based organization, much of the need in the communities we serve is simply a human one. We welcome all those who are willing to work through our organization, regardless of religious affiliation or beliefs.
