Cause Description:
Founded in 1965, Up with People is a global educational organization that has become a powerful conduit for young people to deliver a message of hope and peace to a world where cultural, religious, political, and economic differences tear at our human family. The organization and its touring groups of international students’ ages 18–29, from more than 15 countries travel to nearly 50 communities across two or three continents. Spending about one week in each community, they live with local host families, participate in service-learning projects, engage in educational workshops, and perform in Up with People’s two-hour professional musical stage production. Up with People strives to spark people to action in meeting the needs of their communities, countries and the world while building bridges of understanding as a foundation for world peace.
