Cause Description:
Horse Bottom Acres(or HBA for short) is located in Mount Gilead Ohio, and is devoted to the protection of equine. We share the joy of our rescues with children who wish to participate in 4-H, by providing a horse for them to use as 4-H projects. We dedicate our time and resources to our horses and we hope to educate as many people as we can about the right kind of care horses need and deserve. Our mission is to do our small part in saving as many unwanted and neglected race horses that end up in kill pens at auctions. We specialize in race horse (thoroughbreds, standardbreds, and quarter horses) retirement. Our loving horses have come from all walks of life. Some are straight off the track while others are from horse auctions where brokers buy them for slaughter. At Horse Bottom Acres we are dedicated to giving our horses a safe haven to live the rest of their lives in peace and in the safety of loving arms! Donations received through iGive are used to purchase feed & hay for the horses and necessary equipment for the 4-H kids in HBA second chance 4-H club.
