Cause Description:
Leila and Laila were born on February 21, 2007. Doctors at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, diagnosed the twins with Alagille Syndrome at 2 months old. At 4 months old the girls went into liver failure they pulled out of it but now at 4 years old life-saving liver transplants are needed for them both. In Wichita, Kansas volunteers are raising funds for transplant patients like local twin girls, Leila and Laila Soureshjani. With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant patients are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-needy patients.
