Founded in 1973, the mission of the Los Angeles Center for Economic Survival is to provide education and assistance to low and moderate-income tenants living in the greater Los Angeles area, on their housing rights as well as on environmental health issues such as mold, lead paint, pest infestations (such as roaches and bedbugs. The Coalition for Economic Survival, a project of LACES is a multiracial, multicultural grassroots organization dedicated to organizing tenants to win economic and social justice.
