Hello, we are the proud parents of a former 24 week little girl named Kylee Victoria who was born April 29, 2010 by an emergency c-section due to complications. She is our first child. We imagined our lives being totally different than how things turned out. To all of you who have been touched by knowing or having a premature child you know how we feel. And to all of you who don't I pray you never have to. It was the scariest yet most joyful day of our lives. Kylee struggled from the day she was conceived to survive. Kristine had partial placenta abruption, choriosentisis, and pneumonia. They finally decided to put her on bed rest 4 days before Kylee was born. Kylee had an atrial septal defect which she had closed in her heart July of 2010. Then in December she had an g-tube placed in and a tracheostomy. She spent a total of 10 months in the NICU and PICU. She came home on March 1, 2011. We are so greatful to have been able to take her home!! Things could have turned out differently. It's a struggle having only one parent working full time. We just want to give Kylee everything she needs. We are very modest people. We would love to own a home before Kylee is five. Renting is so annoying. We would love to sit out in our own backyard without people staring at Kylee because she has a tracheostomy. I swear she doesn't know she is different than any other child her age. Or so we liked to believe that. Thank you for reading this.. I wish we could post a pic of her. :) She is a fighter!!
