The San Diego Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country's No. 1 and No. 3 Killers: Heart Disease and Stroke. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that's fun and rewarding for the entire family. Teams are made up of friends and/or families committed to making a difference in the fight against Heart Disease and Stroke. Each year millions of people participate in Heart Walks around the country. Each walker is asked to raise money from friends and family, coworkers, business acquaintances, association members, etc. The money that is raised each year is used to fund the valuable research, education and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association. The AHA provides us with the knowledge and power to live a longer, healthier life. Embracing a healthier life is one of the best gifts we can give to ourselves and those we love.
