Cause Description:
The IAUJC is an important way in which Jews in Ithaca, NY, USA connect to other Jewish people locally, in Israel, and around the world. We strive to further the traditional values of caring for one another and repairing the world. Through our organization, Jews everywhere get support, encouragement, and strength. Since our founding just after the birth of the State of Israel in 1948, the IAUJC has focused on an annual campaign, making grants to local Jewish organizations, and sponsoring educational and cultural activities. Our Board acts to organize the raising of funds and allocation of charitable gifts from the greater Ithaca community and distributes them locally and to the national organization Jewish Federations of N.A.). The JFNA then distributes funds to national and international organizations.
