St. Vincent de Paul is an international organization of Catholic lay men and women who seek in a spirit of justice and charity to help the poor, the needy and the disadvantaged through practical works of charity. We accomplish our mission through person-to-person involvement, providing emergency assistance, material aid, emotional support and counsel or spiritual comfort to Long Islanders in need. With a network of nearly 1,200 volunteers, we work to resolve immediate crisis, but more so to enable people to become self-sufficient. St. Vincent de Paul is the only organization on Long Island to provide in home visits to assist people in a private setting with dignity and respect. The Society helps all people regardless of race, religion, ethnic back-ground, or nationality.
