Cause Description:
As one of only 4 fully operational WWII ships in the country, the American Victory Ship served in WWII, Vietnam and Korea, and now serves as a maritime museum in Tampa, FL. The ship endeavors to serve as a maritime memorial and museum which endeavors to serve the community by preserving and interpreting maritime culture and its legacy. This world-class museum is dedicated to honoring those who built, served and protected our freedom during times of peace and war. On board, guests will visit cavernous cargo holds, radio and gyro rooms, hospital, galley, weaponry, steering stations, flying bridge, signaling equipment, wheelhouse, mess halls, crew cabins, lifeboats, cargo equipment, engine room, photographs, uniforms, medals, documents, naval equipment and rare artifacts. The American Victory Ship is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization.
