Cause Description:
West Haven Summer Youth Theatre's mission is to provide a place for children to learn about the arts. Through an annual 6-week musical production, children learn about acting, music and, most of all, teamwork. Our show provides an outlet, Monday through Friday, for children to learn about themselves and others through the magic of theatre. At the end of the program, the children perform in a musical. Past productions include The Wiz, Oliver, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Godspell. Approximately 70 children, ages 12 through 18, participate in the program. Free lunch is provided to all, and many students receive a grant to attend the program.
