As one of the oldest Humane Societies in Virginia, the Portsmouth Humane Society houses, cares for and adopts as many healthy, adoptable animals as possible. We are the contracted shelter for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia and attempt to educate the public about the importance of proper animal care, spaying and neutering and other issues that relate to animal welfare.
