Cause Description:
My name is Rex Gonzalez. I am an active duty Marine and the founder of GF Communities. GF Communities is an organization that was started in 2005 as a way for our Family to give back to the community. My son was born 4 months premature and if it had not been for the caring and sacrifice he received from our Community he would not be here now. He received the “gift of life” through the Blood donations received from those who knew nothing about him, but wanted to volunteer to help anyhow. From this simple idea, something special grew. More Marines, more people, and more organizations joined our cause and allowing us to become what we are now. We have Communities in Hawaii, North Carolina and Virginia. Our local directors are also active duty Marines who give their free time to support the communities they live in.
