Cause Description:
The specific purposes for which this nonprofit corporation was formed are to educate and develop amateur athletes in order to prepare them for play in national or international amateur baseball competition. The teams in the organization play tournaments and games in Southern California, Henderson, Nevada, Steamboat Springs, Colorado & Omaha, Nebraska. The organization is providing education and instruction for eight teams with players ranging in age from 9-18 years old. The instruction and coaching is done by both paid staff (independent contractors) and volunteers. This work constitutes approximately 90% of the organization's activities. In addition to education and participation in amateur baseball competition, members of the organization will also perform community service and volunteer work. The baseball players and organizers will contribute to the organization's goals by fundraising efforts through sponsored baseball games, yard sales, and obtaining personal corporate sponsors. The community service/volunteer work and fundraising efforts will constitute approximately 10% of the organization's activities.
