Cause Description:
Sofia was one month old when she contracted an aggressive late onset Group B Strep bacterial meningitis infection and sepsis. After being rushed to the ER and quickly moved into the ICU, she was helicoptered to Children's Hospital on life support and stayed in their PICU for over two weeks, followed by another two weeks on the neurology main floor. She now has a brain injury and cerebral palsy as a result of the meningitis infection. Her medical conditions include diabetes insipidus, a cortisol deficiency, cortical vision impairment, hip dysplasia, and various other challenges. All donations support her alternative therapy needs and supplements to continue her path of healing and recovery. Thank you for your continued support.
