Cause Description:
Every 3rd grader in the Bellingham School District takes a field trip to this site where they learn how to be a pioneer. The children churn butter, dip candles, make biscuits from scratch, make ice cream and chop wood. They are well supervised by teachers, parent volunteers and the fabulous staff. This is an important lesson for our children in responsibility, hard work, respect and most of all, fun. 2010 third graders are going to be able to go to the site. Fund raising is continuing for 2011. More still needs to be done to ensure that this site will continue for years to come. Opportunities for funding are being explored and more fundraisers will be held in the future!
