Founded in 1891, Union Rescue Mission is a nonprofit, interdenominational Christian ministry committed to serving God among the urban poor. Union Rescue Mission receives no government funding and relies on the gifts of concerned individuals. Over one million meals are served annually. 1,000 to 1,200 men, women and children sleep at the Mission each night in the emergency shelter. Medical, Dental and Legal Assistance is offered to those in need of these services. A variety of residential recovery programs are in place for individuals seeking to end the cycle of poverty and addiction. The learning center provides an opportunity to build the skills needed to find meaningful work and become self-sufficient.
