Southland Collie Rescue, Inc.

Altadena, California

Cause Description:
SCR is an all-volunteer, non-profit, tax-exempt organization that has been rescuing collies in Southern California for almost 10 years. We rescue ALL collies in need (any age and condition) and find new, loving homes for them. Once we rescue a collie, we keep that collie for as long as it takes to get him or her adopted, however long that may take. The youngest collie we've rescued was 3 weeks; the oldest, 15 years. We also refer nationally (to other collie rescuers) for collies needing new homes and people who may wish to adopt collies. Here in SoCal, we rescue and place 150-200 collies per year; nationally, we refer about 100 collies per year. We also refer as needed for other breeds, especially such related breeds as Shetland Sheepdogs and Border Collies.
