Stonewall Jackson Volunteer Fire Department

Manassas, Virginia

Cause Description:
The Stonewall Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad is based just north of Manassas, VA, and has proudly served the citizens of Prince William County since April 1971. The department is dedicated to the preservation of life and property through education, quality emergency medical care, and effective fire suppression and hazard mitigation. The volunteers of Stonewall Jackson respond to all types of emergencies. Station 11 is one of the busiest in the county: our units respond to over 5000 EMS and fire calls annually, with about half of those calls are during volunteer hours. Dispatches range from relatively minor emergencies such as fire alarms or slips and falls to large-scale incidents like cardiac arrests, auto accidents, hazardous materials releases, structure fires, and train derailments. Responding to such situations requires tremendous sacrifice of valuable family and social time. Intense training and study are important parts of life at Company 11 and we take great pride in our reputation for excellence. We take our responsibilities very seriously and strive to increase our knowledge and preparedness every day.
