Cause Description:
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for brain tumor patients and their families. By offering information, education and support services, we aspire to instill hope, knowledge and comfort to all involved. The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation also raises funds for research and medical personnel so that a cure can be found. The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation, founded in 1995, operates exclusively as a 501(c)(3) not for profit charitable foundation. Since its inception, by the close of 2009 the SBTF will have granted in excess of $1.2 million dollars through sucessful fundraising events like the Race for Research and from individual donations. Operating exclusively as an all volunteer foundation, the SBTF operates with administrative expenses less than 3% enabling us to allocate funds to their intended purpose; brain tumor research grants and support group services. All of the SBTF grants are merit based and not guaranteed to any specific institution. The grant funding allocation is determined by our Medical Advisory Board, made up of four of the most highty recognized brain tumor research professionals in the country.
