Child Care Resource & Referral, a not-for-profit agency founded in 1991, is the state-designated agency responsible for impacting the supply and quality of child care in Will, Grundy, Kankakee and Kendall counties. CCR&R is part of the Illinois Statewide CCR&R System of the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). Parent Referral services assist families looking for child care with referrals, not recommendations. Child Care Assistance Program assists families in applying for help with paying for child care. Recruitment services include resources on starting a child care business. Training services support child care professionals to advance their childcare business. The Social-Emotional Learning Facilitation Program provides a professional consultant to child care homes and centers regarding behavioral issues with children they care for. Child Care Resource & Referral promotes affordable, quality child care through assistance, education, and advocacy in Will, Grundy, Kendall and Kankakee Counties. Through partnerships with organizations, businesses, foundations and United Ways, we are able to continue to meet the needs of families and child care providers within the community.
