Cause Description:
The Lupus Foundation of America, Northwest Ohio and Michigan Chapter, was founded as a regional non-profit organization in 1986. Based at the Family Center in Findlay, OH, we cover a twenty- seven county area in Ohio (including Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Drake, Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Logan, Lucas, Miami, Paulding, Putnam, Seneca, Shelby, Van Wert, Williams, and Wood), and all of Michigan. We are a local chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., which is the largest organization in the world dedicated solely to the cause and mission "to educate and support those affected by lupus and find the cure". All members of our local chapter are also members of this national organization. We believe in engaging the public to raise awareness of lupus, provide service and support to those that have the disease, as well as their families, and to help raise funds to continue the search for the cure.
