Cause Description:
Our Mission is to strengthen under-resourced communities by empowering community-based leaders and engaging people of faith in works of service. Our Vision is a city united to embrace all who are in need; bridging people of every race, class, and religious background together to care for one another. Our Strategy is to strengthen communities through community development efforts and partnerships with non-profit, governmental and congregational groups; to empower leaders by creating community service and employment opportunities for those with barriers to employment and who have been or are at-risk for homelessness; and to engage people of faith in short-term service opportunities and long-term mentoring relationships. Our Story: Embrace Richmond grew out of a homeless woman's desire to give back and we continue to foster this "pay it forward" philosophy in everything we do. Our People: Embrace Richmond is dependent on the generous volunteers who serve both on our staff and on our board.
